Early Intervention Programs
This seven-hour course is designed to instruct supervisors on the concepts, responsibilities and procedures associated with Early Intervention Programs (EIP). Administrators have recognized that a small percentage of officers are responsible for a large share of complaints that can damage an agency’s reputation. EIP programs were implemented as a way to track and identify patterns of behavior and help prevent problem behaviors. This course will assist agencies in establishing EIP; identifying risk indicators; providing examples of action alternatives to assist officers; discussing pitfalls and other program problem areas; and highlighting the benefits of a viable EIP.
