Active Shooter/Rapid Response Training Level II
This two-day course was developed to pick up where the Active Shooter/Rapid Response Level I training ends. With the suspect down and no actionable intelligence driving the first responders to another shooter, first responders must develop techniques to clear and secure the scene, manage follow-on responders to the scene, develop immediate courses of action within an ever-changing environment and provide immediate lifesaving intervention to the victims on scene. Because emergency medical services will not enter scenes of this nature until they have been secured by law enforcement, it is imperative that law enforcement be trained to perform lifesaving first aid skills. The Level II class will address these issues by providing officers with the knowledge and skills to provide aid in three separate phases of an operation; Care Under Fire, Tactical Field Care and Casualty Evacuation. This course will also reinforce skills learned in Active Shooter/Rapid Response Level I and have an emphasis on the following: managing linkup procedures, creating and managing casualty collection points, patient triage, creating contingency plans, hasty defense plans and the establishment of safety corridors. Attendees must have successfully completed an Active Shooter course in order to attend this class.
