CJI is Seeking a Program Assistant and a Learning Services Support Specialist


The Criminal Justice Institute is currently accepting applications for a Learning Services Support Specialist and a Law Enforcement Management Division (LEMD) Program Assistant.

Learning Services Support Specialist
The Learning Services Support Specialist will assist in the development, editing, and production of online courses and course material for CJI classes and special events. This individual will also assist in the coordination of services to provide support for Institute activities to include library services, course material preparation, scheduling, and mailing services.  

Duties include:  Assisting in the development of online training courses using Adobe Connect, Adobe Presenter, Adobe Captivate, Microsoft PowerPoint, Blackboard, and HTML; designing, revising and reformatting slides and written material based on training objectives and requirements; assisting with writing scripts for online courses; proofreading and editing written and recorded course materials to include digital video and audio editing; providing text alternatives for all non-text content in online presentations and on website material; transcribing audio portions of videos for accessibility; assisting in testing and editing online course materials for accessibility and Section 508 compliance; assisting in the coordination of services to provide support for Institute activities to include shipping carrier packages, ordering stock, managing printing orders, filing usage reports;  and assisting with duties related to the Institute’s library services.

LEMD Program Assistant
The LEMD Program Assistant will assist in the implementation of programs, projects, education, training, and administrative tasks associated with project activities of the LEMD and the Education and Training Center (ETC) by providing general office support in the management of course offerings, records, and student enrollment.  

This individual assists in the coordination of the Criminal Justice Institute’s management and supervision programs by maintaining course files and records, filing paperwork, preparing course flyers and announcements, registering students for courses, managing enrollment records, entering evaluation results, reviewing course material, coordinating with hosting law enforcement agencies, classroom setup, travel, preparing and submitting training certification paperwork, and assisting with the facilitation of classes.
