COURSE DESCRIPTION: Diversity is common place in the 21st century, yet many struggle with accepting differences. Law enforcement officers must relate to peers and those in their communities in an impartial manner to effectively promote and enhance public relations, police services, and departmental image. This comprehensive look at culture and diversity aims to tackle stereotypes, explore diversity plans, and look at the bonuses of diversity overall.

INSTRUCTION BIO: Ms. Kimberly Hendricks.
Ms. Kimberly Hendricks has worked as a public servant for more than 20 years. During this time, she has developed curriculums and presented trainings that aim to enhance understanding of diversity issues in the public sector. Since 1999, Ms. Hendricks has been employed with the University of Arkansas System, Criminal Justice Institute. Currently, she is the Deputy Administrator in the Law Enforcement Management Division. Kimberly graduated cum laude from Philander Smith College with a BA in Psychology, and from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR) with a Master's Degree in Public Administration.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION:  Registrants must fax a signed and dated verification letter on agency letterhead within five days of submission of the registration request form to 501-565-3081 which includes the following statement:  This letter will verify that I, (name of registrant), am an employee of (agency name) and hold the position of (sworn/non-sworn) (position title), located at (address) and have registered for (name of class) on (date).
