"Online Courses" FAQ

Who can take these online courses?
The majority of our online courses are on-demand training for Arkansas certified law enforcement officers. We also offer some courses for out-of-state certified law enforcement officers.

How do I register for an online course?
Register just as you would for any CJI course by completing an online registration form. We will send you an email with a URL, login, and password after the registration form is processed.

When are the online courses offered?
When you complete your registration form, please indicate which course you want to take and choose from the dates offered. These dates are the open and close dates for the course offerings. Once the course open date arrives, you can log in and work on the course at your convenience, 24 hours a day, any time between the course open and close dates.

What are the technical requirements for accessing the online course?
You can access your online course on any computer with an internet connect, except dial-up. Adobe Flash Player 9.0 or later is required to run your online course. Most computers today have Flash Player. If you experience problems with audio, it may be that you need to update your version of Adobe Flash Player. You can go to Adobe.com to download a free, recent version of Adobe Flash Player.            http://get2.adobe.com/flashplayer/

Once I am registered for a course and have my login information, how do I access and complete the course?
The first time you log in, you will be prompted to change your password. Just choose a password with at least four characters. Then you will see the course. Click the "open" button to begin! If you log out, the course will start again where you left it the next time you log in.  You can also review our Quick Start Guide for additional information.

How do I get help?
For technical questions contact Lynnetta Spicer at lgspicer@cji.edu or 501-570-8085.

Will I receive a certificate and ACLEST credit?
Arkansas law enforcement participants who complete the curriculum will receive contact hours of credit from the Arkansas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training (ACLEST.)  A certificate will be emailed to you at the email address on your CJI course registration request. Certificates are emailed after the course close date. We will report completion of the course to ACLEST.
