The ARIDE program was developed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) with the help of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) to address the gap in training between the Standardized Field Sobriety Testing (SFST) and the Drug Evaluation and Classification (DEC/DRE) Program.

ARIDE is a two-day training course that will train law enforcement officers how to observe, identify, and articulate the signs of impairment related to drugs, alcohol, or a combination of both in order to reduce the number of impaired driving incidents. Participants for this course must be law enforcement officers who have successfully completed the NHTSA/IACP approved SFST training course. This class will not qualify you to perform functions of a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE).

For more information about the ARIDE course contact Harold Edmonson at 501-570-8035.
