High Expectations: Addiction and Drugs 101
This class will provide participants with technically accurate and descriptive information on a range of topics including alcohol, prescription drugs, and illegal drugs. In this interactive training, participants will learn about the effects of these drugs on the body and why addiction happens so fast with youth in relation to adolescent brain development. The class will also cover current drug terms such as “cross fading” and include discussion regarding the current heroin epidemic taking place in our country. This training focuses on facts pertaining to alcohol, heroin and prescription drugs that school personnel and school resource officers can use for beneficial conversations and presentations with their students. This interactive and highly informative training will allow participants to walk away with the ability to easily explain addiction and with extensive knowledge of the drugs listed above.
• This class is 7 hours.
• Class hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• This class is available at no charge.
