Risk Management

COURSE FEE: $125.00

 ***SPACE IS LIMITED***

COURSE DESCRIPTION: The focus of this program will be integrating “real risk management” into the operations of your law enforcement organization. The program will commence with some thoughts on “cause” of tragedies in any profession – focusing on the difference between “proximate” cause – and those problems “lying in wait” – sometimes for years – that went ignored and really led to the given tragedy. Now that a foundation has been laid, the program will continue with some thoughts on “the Ten Families of Risk” – and lay out some specific concerns for law enforcement agencies within these “families” – along with providing some control measures to address these risks in a proactive manner. Accompanying this will be a “back to work” assignment for each attendee to perform when they get back to work – the importance of identifying the “top three” risks faced in every job description in your specific department.

The program will continue with an in depth look at the fourth of these ten families of risk – Organizational Risk Management and Gordon will provide a detailed analysis of “The Five Pillars of Success” – getting and keeping good PEOPLE, developing great POLICY, assuring that TRAINING is taken seriously, making sure that supervisors are providing quality SUPERVISION, and the importance of the DISCIPLINE process.
