Qualified applicants are sought to assist with program activities of the Criminal Justice Institute’s Traffic Safety Law Enforcement and Prosecutor Training Project and the Law Enforcement Liaison Project. The Arkansas State Police Highway Safety Office provides grant funds from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to support the Criminal Justice Institute’s Traffic Safety Law Enforcement and Prosecutor Training Project, the central source of nationally recognized traffic safety certification courses for Arkansas law enforcement.
The SFST Program Specialist monitors and conducts a variety of training and education programs to include: Standardized Field Sobriety Testing (SFST), Driving While Intoxicated (DWI), Traffic Occupant Protection Strategies (TOPS), Drug Recognition Expert (DRE), Drug Impairment Training for Educational Professionals (DITEP) and Drugged Driving (DD). Provides general office support with a variety of clerical and administrative activities and assists in the management of the programs’ course offerings, records, and student enrollment.
Experience with scheduling and delivery of courses preferred. Frequent in-state travel and occasional out-of-state travel is required.
